babies, Babies, BABIES!!!

I have babies on the brain! I currently have 9 women in my life, ranging from family to facebook friends, that are expecting! Now, I am NOT one of them, but I can't help but wish I was! It seems like the cool thing is to be having a baby. Joel and I have talked about it, of course; we've been married for 3 years this summer, but we're still not ready. Well, let me correct that: I'm not ready. My sweet husband is as ready as ever. He's 27 and keeps reminding me that he doesn't want to be an old dad. I keep reminding him that I graduate in the Spring of 2013. Once I'm done with my degree, I'd be more than happy to start our family. So for now, I am content with watching the progress of my friends and family to learn what to do, what not to do, what to expect, etc. Not to mention shopping for gifts!

Valentine's Day 2012

Happy Valentine's Day!!! This day has been wonderful! I woke up to a poem from Joel on my bedside table. There have been few occasions where Joel wrote me poems and each one is special! He is very talented! Then I left for work expecting to get flowers sent to me at work, just as years past. Our 1st Valentine's Day, he sent me roses at Ferris, the 2nd & 3rd he sent to me at work. I was so shocked when I opened my truck door to leave for work and find flowers, a box of chocolates, and Twilight: Breaking Dawn part 1. I had to quick run back in the house to give him extra hugs & kisses and let him know how much I loved my surprise! After work I came home and waited for my sweetie to come home from work. I whipped up a chocolate silk pie for dessert after our Chinese dinner. Tuesdays are my only free day during the week so I wanted to stay in tonight and not have to cook or clean up after wards. I was quite surprised when Joel had me go out to the garage to get an ice cold, "Dr. Pepper" but instead found my favorite drink: Sparkling White Grape Juice. Then when he got home, he surprised me with 2 cheesecakes: White chocolate and chocolate. Man, oh man, I am one spoiled girl! All I got him was a Crayola Crayon Maker. He's been asking for one since before Christmas- he wants to make his own colors for designing stuff. He was excited by it and we had a good laugh about the large amount of dessert that we had. I love my husband more and more everyday. We fit so well together and I couldn't imagine spending eternity with anyone else. Another great year with many more to come! Even if they all aren't spent with lavish gifts, each one will be spent with my one true love!

Starting a Blog

I've decided to start blogging as a way of sharing our life with our friends and family! I can't promise weekly or monthly blogs, but I will do what I can, when I can. 2012 will be another great year! Already Joel has been given 2 traveling assignments for work. First, he will be working on a frozen food line in OH during the 2nd week of February. Second, he'll be traveling to Mexico for a packaging summit at the end of February. I, unfortunately, will have to stay home and continue going to work and school while he gets to go have some fun! I am so proud of how hard he works! It's nice to know that his efforts do not go unnoticed at work; Joel was paid a very nice compliment by the Vice President of the Research and Development department of Nestle Gerber. I'm so glad that he has a job that he loves! Not once has he come home and complained about work! There are a lot of good things in our future! I finally have an end in sight for school and will be graduating in the spring of 2013! Super excited, even though it is still a ways off.
